The Story Behind the Mission

The Journey from Proving to Belonging
I grew up inside the local church, fully immersed in its rhythms and community. Yet, for many years, my identity was entirely performance-based. As a young woman, I struggled with immense shame and depression, believing the toxic lie that my worth was tied strictly to my academic utility and immediate performance.

God met me in that hopelessness at age 21, permanently anchoring my value in Christ’s finished work rather than my own "offerings." This realization propelled me to Moody Bible Institute, where my heart for text-driven theology and care for the broken officially began to take shape.

Restoring Dignity
After graduating from Moody with a degree in Human Services, God transitioned me from the classroom straight to the front lines of human services. My experience has spanned residential care for at-risk youth, foster care case management, and crisis intervention.

Currently, I serve with Outreach Ministries in transitional housing, working directly with individuals navigating deep displacement, trauma, and systemic brokenness. In this intense environment, I am regularly faced with complex crises, relational friction, and the hard realities of a fractured world.

Surviving the Wilderness
While serving others, the most profound formation of my soul occurred over a brutal four-year wilderness season. Accompanying my husband through a complex criminal case, our family entered a period of intense public and private testing where everything—our reputation, our future, and our security—was on the line.

Truthfully, I had every reason to turn my back on the church. I carried deep wounds and rejection that my family experienced during my childhood, and as our family entered this latest valley, I watched other churches turn their backs on us when we needed them most. Yet, in the middle of that devastating isolation, God did something completely unexpected: He used my current local church to show me that there is still profound hope for the Church today. My local body became our absolute bedrock throughout that storm. They didn't retreat; they stepped into the crisis with us.

Through that fire, God shattered my own fear of failure. For years, I had resisted His calling on my life because I was terrified of looking poorly in my own performance. But on the verge of losing everything, I learned to take steps of courage toward God's greater call, leading me back to Moody to pursue my MDiv in Spiritual Formation and Discipleship.

Through it all, I have never lost hope. God made my ultimate calling undeniably clear:
to develop people within the local church so that we may glorify Him with every single ounce of our lives.
I realized that small failures along the way are entirely worth it if it means fulfilling His purpose.

My Commitment to Leadership
This unique blend of MDiv in Spiritual Formation, rigorous theological training, and heavy frontline human services experience shapes my leadership posture. I lead from a position of absolute submission to the Holy Spirit, recognizing that he is the one who transforms souls, not my own strategies.

Driven by over a decade of hands-on church teaching, small group development, and transitional housing leadership, I exist to build environments that build leaders towards their God given purpose. Through bold theological conversations and intentional mentorship, my life is fully dedicated to emptying my hands of control and equipping character-driven leaders who will walk in integrity and advance the kingdom of God.

Off the Clock
When I'm not studying, leading, or writing, you can find me enjoying the simpler rhythms of home in the Western Chicago suburbs. Whether I’m working on house projects with my husband, Robby, walking our two dogs, Mabel and George, tending to the garden, or experimenting with a new recipe in the kitchen through baking and canning, I love finding joy in creation—and yes, I’m always up for an outdoor adventure like hiking or kayaking whenever I get the chance.
